Codian Ltd, the manufacturer of video conferencing infrastructure products, has announced that its MCU 4200 and IP VCR 2200 range has been approved by West Coast Labs.

Tests confirmed that the firewall functionality of the products provided effective protection against probes, malware and other hacking attacks.

According to the press release, the MCU 4200 is the most powerful video conferencing bridge available. It produces high-quality voice and video via a user-friendly interface. Its Universal Port(TM) technology supports any codec, any speed, resolution and layout on any port without loss of capacity or capability.

It allows users to stream video, audio and content to any web browser without the need for additional hardware or software and is the only MCU to do this.

The IP VCR 2200 series is a digital recorder for video conferencing. It enables businesses to save video content for future viewing. The video firewall ensures that voice and video calls can be made over the public Internet without opening access to data on an organization’s private internal network.

West Coast Labs subjected both the products to thousands of specific TCP/IP based tests and detected no security weaknesses.
