US data security company, Utimaco, has completed its HSM (Hardware Security Module) portfolio with the announcement of the new CryptoServer S platform.

The company is now well-placed to cover the entire HSM market. The CryptoServer S Series, which includes the S10 and S50 versions, is designed for users who manage their server-based security with software.

Hardware security modules provide secure generation, storage and application of cryptographic keys and certificates in encryption and signature processes. CryptoServer products protect applications and keys across a range of processes including electronic payment and banking.

They provide transaction security, secure PKI environments, document management and archiving, database security and authentication, secure toll-collection systems and electronic billing.

The S version is a cost-effective product giving high security standard and certification of FIPS Level 3 criteria together with end-to-end key management. It ensures the secure and reliable introduction of electronic processes such as e-business, e-payment and e-government solutions and has the highest level of FIPS certification, a highly-regarded security standard.

The CryptoServer S platform can be easily upgraded to the CS level, which caters for the higher-end of the market, as both products are based on the same architecture. CryptoServer S10 and S50 will be available in March 2007 and will offer the highest level of security possible for data and investments.
