F-Secure Announces Messaging Security Gateway Version 4

By Brian Turner

January 5, 2007

F-Secure is launching version 4 of its F-Secure Messaging Gateway appliance, which incorporates improved usability, mail queue management and support for more complex email infrastructures.

The Messaging Gateway is available in three different physical hardware configurations and the hardware appliance is now also available utilising VMware’s virtualisation platform. All four versions, including the virtual appliance, include the same anti-spam, anti-virus and anti-phishing features.

They also include a new optional Zero-Hour Antivirus Module, which provides protection against fast-spreading viruses. The Module provides a front line of defence during the critical first hours of a new virus outbreak and is effective before traditional anti-virus signatures have been updated.
