SmartLine Inc. announced at the RSA Conference 2007 in San Francisco, the general availability of DeviceLock® v6.1 - end-point security software which prevents employees from acquiring data beyond the scope of their jobs and outside the guidelines of an IT security policy.
DeviceLock controls and audits activity at all peripheral ports and removable device interfaces on Windows®-based computers natively via Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPO) and/or DeviceLock management console.
The software allows administrators to control the level and scope of access given to users and groups. Administrators can specify which devices on which computers a user can have access to, and also exactly when that access is allowed. It provides the necessary control to allow the safe use of USB flash drives.
DeviceLock manages any peripheral port and device interface with its layered security architecture and White List options. This ensures that even users with local computer administrator rights cannot tamper with policy enforcement.
The newly released version 6.1 offers more granular, tamper-proof settings for secure data access, auditing and shadowing, new USB keyloggers discovery and new time-saving features for DeviceLock administrators.
The updated version includes a new option for handling audit records likely to be preferred by auditors and compliance professionals.
DeviceLock 6.1 is available immediately. Prices begin at $35 in the US for a single-computer license, or $7,400 for managing 1,000 computers. Discounts are available at several volume levels and for educational institutions. A free, fully functional demo is available for download at http://www.advancedforce.com/
