Internet communications company Skype, and security company Symantec, have partnered to provide PC security solutions for small office and home office Skype users.
The companies have entered into a co-marketing agreement, under which Skype will offer a special promotion to business users who click through Skype to a co-branded PC security information web site and download Norton Internet Security and other Symantec Norton branded products.
Sype has certified Symantec’s Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus 2007 products, for home users and small offices.
Symantec’s security software proactively equips users with the additional protection they need to safeguard their personal information.
Norton Internet Security 2007 includes the antivirus and antispyware protection of Norton AntiVirus. It provides sophisticated new phishing protection, an activity which is rising sharply according to Symantec’s most recent Internet Security Threat Report.
It also provides an enhanced firewall and defence against software vulnerabilities.
Skype will make Symantec’s Norton branded products available in its online store at a discount to retail prices.
