Blancco Ltd, which specialises in data erasure solutions, has released Blancco – Digital Media Shredder, which can eliminate the risks of data leaks posed by Flash and Magnetic Media.

Digital Media Shredder permanently destroys information on removable storage media. The flash edition of the software is designed specifically to destroy data stored on various media such as USB flash drives, SD cards and CompactFlash. The magnetic edition destroys data stored on different types of magnetic storage media such as ZIP, JAZ and REV drives.

Removable media is a convenient and simple way of storing and transferring data and rapid advancements in technology have led to substantial increase in storage capacity at low prices.

The surge in popularity of the use of portable storage media has led to an increase in the risk of information loss or theft from USB drives, PDAs, removable hard drives and other media.
