Axiomtek has introduced the NA-820 high-performance network security hardware platform.

The NA-820 is a 1U rack-mountable form factor with seven front LAN ports designed for the small and medium business market.

It integrates a high performance embedded SBC, the SBC8A820, which supports an Intel Core2 Duo processor with a 800MHz front side bus and features an advanced Intel 945G chipset integrated VGA function and built-in PCIe gigabit Ethernet interface.

The NA-820 is suitable platform for IDS/IPS, VPN, content filtering, UTM, network management, network security applications and other embedded box solutions.

When the platform shuts down, network problems are prevented through two groups of LAN by-pass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions.

The NA-820 features an Intel 82573 LAN chip and supports fail-over, load sharing and load balancing functions for critical network environments. It also supports two high bandwidth DDR2 533/667 DIMM sockets maximum up to 2Gbyte memory.

Storage interfaces include a 2.5in IDE or SATA HDD and CompactFlash, and a Mini PCI slot with 32bit/33MHz is available for expansion.

The product will be available at the end of February.
