Check Point announces new UTM appliances

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd has announced a new range of unified threat management (UTM) appliances, called UTM-1.

UTM-1 is specially designed for medium-sized businesses and enterprise regional sites. It provides complete, multi-layered protection against Internet threats such as spyware, viruses and network attacks.

UTM-1 security appliances are designed to be easy to deploy and can be centrally controlled to simplify management for multiple sites.

Features include a stateful-inspection firewall, IPSec VPN, gateway antivirus and anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, innovative Web Application Firewall to help protect Web servers, plus security functions for voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), instant messaging and peer-to-peer networks.

Check Point SmartCenter™ management is integrated to provide centralised, built-in security management without the need for additional hardware or software. 

UTM-1 allows remote workers to connect securely using integrated SSL VPN technologies. The system gives IT administrator’s greater visibility into their network infrastructure through comprehensive monitoring and reporting features.
