HSM level security for mobile environments

Spyrus, Inc., the California-based security products company, has announced the Rosetta Micro - the first micro-sized, low-cost embeddable Hardware Security Module (HSM) for highly secure authentication and encryption for embedded devices.
Rosetta Micro is designed for use in consumer electronic devices, such as PDAs, smart phones and other devices requiring high security, where board space and power are key limitations.
Rosetta Micro uses the next generation Suite B algorithms, the strongest commercial-off-the-shelf cryptographic algorithms currently available. It features a high entropy internal hardware Random Number Generator, measures less than 0.3 cm3 in volume or 1/66 the size of competing products, and
draws less than 20mW of power.
Rosetta Micro is ideal for integration into both custom and mass-market products where small size, low power and high security are essential, including computers, cell phones, PDAs, routers, point of sale terminals, set top boxes and industrial control devices.
The system prevents cloning, piracy and the use of counterfeit components. It also provides additional high security functionality such as policy enforcement features which extend next generation data containment functionality to the platforms in which it is embedded.
The Rosetta Micro can be used to enable PKI-based digital certificate security to provide users with the ability to perform secure computer smart card log on, email encryption and digital signatures, and authenticated web browsing.
