Steganos updates encryption software

Steganos has launched a new release of its market-leading encryption software for business - Steganos Safe Professional 2007.

The software has been enhanced to provide protection for Outlook data and a fourfold increase in the maximum size of each encrypted safe to 256GB.

The software is ideal for business users who carry company information on mobile devices such as laptops and PDAs, as it effectively prevents the loss of data into the public demain if the devices are lost or stolen.

Steganos Safe Professional 2007 provides a suite of tools for encrypting data. The tools are supported by administrative features which allow the software to be deployed and managed in a business environment.

Users can create an unlimited number of secure virtual drives, in which data is safely stored and encrypted. Each drive can now hold up to 256GB and the drives can be accessed by multiple teams.

Only one user can log in to write to the drive at a time, but all authorised users can have read access to encrypted data.

In the latest release each safe has its own keyboard shortcut enabling it to be quickly opened from any application.

This release also protects data stored in Microsoft Outlook, such as emails and contact information. The whole PST file can now be locked in a password protected Outlook Safe.

Encrypted archives can be stored on CDs, DVDs, storage cards, USB keys and DVD-DL media.

The software is available now, with the download and boxed edition priced at £54.95. An upgrade from a previous full version of Steganos Safe Professional (download only) costs £32.95.
