The PCI or Payment Card Industry drafted new regulations to null computer storage of credit card information.

The draft copy is also called the Payment Applications Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). It was constructed from a arrangement of regulations produced from the popular credit card company Visa. it will be looked after by the branch of the Payment Card Industry known as the Security Standards Council. The regulations, declared in the beginning of the month, expect any software package dealing with credit cards to not store or use a cache system. This also includes information on the magnetic stripe or the cardholder’s PIN number.
Although two hundred application programs have reached compliancy on the guidelines set forth, many others continue to store information on cardholders.
