Cyber Storm II Security War

This week is the start of the new united states cyber war on internet security. Named operation Cyber Storm 2, the federal government plans to highlight any weak areas within its security networks.

The main areas of interest to the federal government are those areas of chemical, IT, and communications. Cyber Storm II has the participation of over forty companies, and will simulate network attacks.

The Department of Homeland Security released this statement, “The scenario will progress as players receive ‘injects’ via e-mail, phone, fax, in person, and exercise websites from exercise control. These injects will simulate adverse effects through which the participants can exercise their cyber crisis response systems, policies and practices.”
