Google Apps Premier Edition adds authentification layer

Google Apps Premier Edition users can now have an additional, transparent layer of protection against identity theft and fraud, Arcot A-OK On-Demand.

An encrypted file on their own computer will allow users to log in with their name and password as usual. If they need to access their account from another computer they will be asked to answer a predetermined question.

This ensures that no one who has stolen a password will be able to gain access. Designed with the corporate market in mind, it is the same level of security required for credit card companies and other financial institutions.

This service is now available at the cost $1 USD per month.
