Lockdown network access control (NAC) which begin operation in 2003 in Seattle, Washington has ceased operations. Only last month it had released its Version 4.6 of Enforcer and its new 2U platform. Despite its strong partnerships with other technology leaders, and its well-known, experienced investors, it was unable to obtain sufficient venture capital to proceed. It states on its website that the lack of funding was due to “overall economic trends and slower than predicted adoption of NAC technology”. The company will be contacting customers and partners directly with more information. Lockdown has retained some employees to oversee the closure and to “entertain offers to Lockdown’s intellectual property.”
