QuickTime Player Patched

By Lashan Clarke

April 3, 2008

Apple has just released at least eleven patches to its QuickTime player.

These security holes would have made it possible for someone to create an attack using movie files.

The patches are being issued as updates to version 7.4.5, and range from basic security flaws in handling Java, to more harmful flaws that could seriously compromise a computer system.

This is the third time Apple has had to issue security patches for QuickTime in 2008. A least five security patches were released - four in the month of January, and one in February.

Apple is trying to stay ahead of the game, as more attacks are targeting media player files.
