nCipher, a company that produces software that can protect critical enterprise data have gone into partnership with Jack Henry & Associates Inc, who are providers of data processing services and integrated technology solutions and are focused mainly on assisting financial institutions.
The partnership is actually with Jack Henry subsidiary company, Symitar, who will offer nCipher’s CryptoStor solution for re-sale.
Symitar supplies software systems and other related services to credit unions. The company has already in place many contracts to install and service nCipher CryptoStor to credit unions which include Lockheed Federal Credit Union.
Lockheed are apparently very satisfied with CryptoStor and have placed two additional orders for their IBM systems.
Many types of organization, but in particular financial services companies, are required to meet a strict set of compliance mandates as well as security regulations.
These requirements, in part, demand that they encrypt any sensitive information including current files as well as storage and back-up and recovery systems.
Financial services organizations obviously hold very large amounts of sensitive information, therefore encryption solutions have to meet exacting standards and various criteria.
Some of their requirements would include an easy to deploy system, which does not slow down the overall running speed of the existing system, and should be capable of giving on-demand access and recovery of keys.
