Leader in network monitoring software, Endace Limited, announced today that NinjaProbe is to be upgraded with a new applied watch command center and data mining agent, Snort.
The addition of the Snort IDS (intrusion detection system) will not only mean Endace’s product portfolio will have been reinforced, but so will one of the chief passive capture software packages on the market.
Vice President of Marketing at Endace, Stephen Gleave, spoke about the unique ability Endace now has, to offer ground-breaking applications as a part of their NinjaProbe package, with their exclusive Applied Watch security information manager.
Gleave went on to talk about the opportunity before network security engineers who, with the use of the NinjaProbe product portfolio, can now use a managed application which runs on the most commonly used open source intrusion detection software on up to 10Gbps segments.
NinjaProbe also offers Endace the ability to save all data traffic on disk, which means that when a security rule is broken, analysts then have the opportunity to go over all the adjacent data to ascertain if there is any relation to those files which were security risks.
NinjaProbe, which is currently run off Endace’s DAG application, is a family of appliances which are designed to be implemented ubiquitously throughout a network.
The portfolio’s Snort rule definition, downloading, alerting, in-depth data mining, and complete platform configuration, are all now manageable remotely.
Traffic filtration and Netflow record generation is also now supported, so that NinjaProbe can offer a full range of intrusion detection, data capture, performance management, traffic monitoring, and electronic surveillance.
CEO of Endace, Mike Riley, spoke about the fortuitous opportunities provided by the company’s acquisition of Applied Watch.
Snort’s management tools can now be fully integrated with NinjaProbe’s, which will lead to a more secure network.
Riley went on to say that, with the addition of Snort, Endace was not just improving NinjaProbe, they were raising the bar on both IDSs, and on what price is acceptable for this level of network security.
The market price on such solutions has been reducing, whilst the demand for bigger and better products has been increasing. The starting price for the NinjaProbe IDS is $28,825.00.
