BullGuard Introduce Security for Online Gamers

BullGuard are well established in the user-friendly PC and mobile security market, but now they have taken what seems an obvious and perhaps overdue step and moved into protecting gamers.

With what they claim is the “world’s most advanced dedicated security solution for gamers”, the very simply named “Gamer’s Edition” aims to protect gamers from unpleasant surprises.

The new solution was developed in conjunction with SteelSeries, a major gaming peripherals manufacturer.

The new system intends to remove some of the problems that plague the ever increasing numbers of online gamers, such as never ending firewall messages and over powering resource consumption that ultimately degrades the game.

The company commissioned a survey that discovered that a surprising 20% of gamers used no form of protection when online gaming and the biggest complaint from 50% of the other people surveyed was that the protecting software interfered with the game.

BullGuard Gamer’s Edition automatically launches a specialised game profile when it sees the user move to a game.

Each game has its own security profile within BullGuard. This reduces resource use and at the same time halts messaging when play is engaged.

There will also be no updates or other interruptions while the game is in play.

At the moment the profiles only support around 80 games but the company points out they have aimed at the most popular games, including World of Warcraft and Age of Conan.

They will be adding to these game profiles in an ongoing build of the Gamer’s Edition

It is also possible for users to create their own profiles for individual games and a general game mode will suit most games currently on the market.

The ultimate aim of the software is to avoid damage to the player’s computer without giving up any performance features in the games.
