Protegrity has released the latest version of its successful Defiance Security Software Suite.

The new 4.5 is the latest version of its data protection solution.

This new version widens its existing cross-platform support aimed at mainframe data protection.

It incorporates an Application Protector and command line File Protector for z/OS.

The new version will provide cover for application, database and file-level encryption using incorporated cryptographic hardware.

The big advantage of this incorporation is that it eliminates the need to use up large amounts of network resources when data is moved off the system for encryption and decryption.

It also now has a simplified data security management with new auto-configuration and cluster deployment options implemented for its web application firewall.

The Defiance Suite is made up of the Enterprise Security Administrator, the Defiance Threat Management System web application firewall and the Defiance Data Protection System for encryption.

A broad range of Application Protectors, Database Protectors and File Protectors make up the Defiance Data Protection System.

New and enhanced functionality in the Defiance Security Suite includes:

  • Expanded platform support for the mainframe with a new
Application Protector and command line File Protector for z/OS
  • Extended web application firewall management with application
path and security policy auto-configuration and cluster deployment
  • Broadened Linux platform support with new File Protectors for
RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 and SuSE Linux ES 10
  • Vastly increased performance for the Database Protector for
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008.
