Big time international financial services player Prudential, like many other big companies, is trying to deal with the ever increasing rise in Internet-borne threats to its network and recently decided to upgrade their security platform to PGDS.

They selected Calyx to implement the changes to its web security solution. They in turn have been advising the company and have been providing regular product upgrades in an attempt to keep the Pru ahead of the internet threat game.

The Pru admit to being the victim of multiple attacks, often coming from seemingly safe areas such as IM and even personal and business email.

They also say that there are other aspects to the problem, such as employees downloading music and video files for their own amusement, thus hurting company productivity.

They selected the Blue Coat solution from Calyx that blocks Internet security threats and also blocks what the company deem to be inappropriate content, while allowing them to manage employee’s web time.

Blue Coat is capable of scanning as much as 90 Mbps of traffic for malicious content, which also gives the Pru the ability to scan through employees web based activities.
