Vodafone Wants to Manage Company Mobile Devices

A quarter of all users of company-owned mobile devices regard the equipment as their personal property.
15% download unauthorised elements to the unit and 10% change settings.
20% of IT managers say that they have experienced security problems as a direct result of these kinds of violations.
Once out of the office users simply do not feel the same obligation to conform to company regulations when using mobile devices.
Vodafone has seized on what it sees as a hole in the market and has developed a service to help protect the devices from security problems.
IT managers can use managed services to protect the devices, even if they are spread across the country or the world.
Vodafone’s Windows Mobile Email plan tackles issues such as antivirus, firewall, device management, configuration, lock and wipe, and even remote diagnostics.
The plan allows for 500MB or 5GB of data use for a set monthly fee.
Firewalls are not set and can be altered for each individual device.
There is no need for IT managers to get their hands on the device to make many alterations such as remote upgrades, locking and wiping in case of device theft or termination of employment.
Vodafone can perform diagnostics on all or individual devices 24/7
