Cyberoam, a major provider of identity-based Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances, has now unveiled its CR 200i and CR 300i.

The new appliances are aimed at offering a more rounded delivery of high ROI especially in the area of SMBs.

These new systems combine the performance of improved technology multi-core processor, which gives Cyberoam the capability of achieving very high UTM throughputs when you make comparisons with ASIC solutions, which are hardware-based.

Back in June last year the company announced that it had made partnership arrangements with a number of vendors including Kaspersky Lab, CommTouch, and The GreenBow.

This was in order to push for worldwide unified policies in several areas including anti-virus scanning and intrusion prevention.(read here)

According to the company, these new developments will help with the ever widening array of threats that continue to emerge.

This will be possible by the innovative use of enhanced multi-core aware architecture that can execute multiple network sessions at the same time.

The port density has also been increased up to 6 GBe ports.

This, when combined with flexible software and new hardware, will give substantial advantages in high throughput yields with UTM throughput levels raised by a full third.
