Secerno launches products in Africa
by David Masters
UK-based data security firm Secerno has teamed up with South Africa-based Secersa to distribute its products in sub Saharan Africa.
Together, the two companies plan to fight cybercrime across southern Africa, taking advantage of the South Africa’s superb IT infrastructure.
The partnership will enable Secersa to offer Secerno’s database policy enforcement and database activity monitoring to its customers and reseller network.
Secerno’s products include the DataWall, available as both a hardware and virtual appliance.
The DataWall stops threats before data is lost or compromised, rather than simply monitoring threats and reporting them after the damage has been done.
It actively blocks all threats to data, even from trusted and privileged users.
Pieter Henstra, Secersa’s sales manager, said: “We have recently seen an increase in the demand for sophisticated security following some data loss incidents locally.
“We are convinced that Secerno will become the platform of choice in Africa.”
Peter Simpson, Secerno’s vice president of alliances and marketing, said his company is ‘delighted’ to be expanding its reach to South Africa.
He added: “This distribution partnership with Secersa allows Secerno’s products to reach another new market fast and we are pleased to be able to help them address this growing opportunity.”
